Alcohol & Other Drugs

We know it can be hard to ask for help, especially if your cultural needs often aren’t respected, or you speak a language other than English.

CAASSA staff are well-trained and experienced in working with individuals who experience harm from alcohol and other drug use.

How can we help?

Assessment

We conduct a holistic assessment, including AOD, health/mental health, and other concerns, to assist you in identifying your service needs and goals. After the assessment, we will work with you to develop your care plan.

Individual counselling

A skilled and qualified counsellor can work with you to manage your AOD usage and prevent relapses. Our counsellors use evidence-based therapies (i.e. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and incorporate culturally sensitive techniques.

One-on-one support service

Once your care plan has been developed, an allocated case manager will work with you to provide one-on-one support to assist you to achieve your goals.

Smart Recovery support groups

We offer a safe and supportive group program to help you achieve your goals around AOD use. This group is led by a peer worker and a senior AOD program staff member.

Peer support

You can receive support from peer workers, who have lived experience with AOD use, and understand your challenges.

Family Support

CAASSA provides information, education and support to family members who are concerned about a loved one’s AOD use.

Brief interventions

We provide information, education and referrals to address your immediate needs.
